Randy & I had the opportuntiy to "talk" with Caleb & Samara's birth mothers via translator when we were in Haiti in July. The one thing that both of them expressed passionately was that they "not be forgotten" by their children. I have already sent down one time use cameras for all three birth mothers so they can take pictures of themselves, their family, & their home land. I will then have the pictures developed. They will keep a set for themselves & then they will identify who is who & what is what on another set for us to keep for the children. We will try to do this periodically through out their lives as well as give them picture book updates on the children.

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good & not for evil, to give you a future & a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

"May the Lord richly bless both you & your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, who made heaven & earth." Psalm 115:14-15

AWESOME!!!!!
Caleb's Mother is just stunning! It is awesome that you got to meet with the mothers. Something I feel very important. It makes the story later in life so much intimate. The camera idea is very neat, would like to do this with Daniel's Birth Family. You all are so special and I am glad that God chose you to be Caleb's parents.
I agree with you Sarah about Caleb's birth mother. Samara's is beautiful as well but she was really "struggling" with the "realness" of it all. Her love for Samara just overflowed from her. It was a very emotional day for all of us.
I can't take credit for the camera thing because several others have already done it & suggested it to us.
The birth parent thing is uncomfortable for me.
The twins only have a dad. He seems kind of angry that I can afford to raise the twins and he can't.
We assured him they would have a good education and that we'd love them like our own and that perhaps one day they would return as doctors or teachers etc. but he left upset.
Next time we go I am taking pictures to him of our first meeting.
We are going very soon but I'm not suppose to say when due to security.
That's awesome that you got to meet the moms. I love the camera idea. I can't wait to hear all about your trip.
I'm uncomfortable with the birth parent thing as well. I would have ben fine not meeting them but they were there for the DHS appointments although Caleb's birthmother showed up after the appointment. I do think it's good that they will have pictures of their birth family & home land. I'm sure that will mean a lot to them when they are older.
Hi Angela!!! I miss you! I can't wait to see you again as well as see Madelyn for the first the time. I'm so glad you get to see Steven & Belle soon. I know they are sooooooooo excited!!!
Nothing like meeting birthmoms!!!
