Hurricane Dean...
Please pray for Haiti...especially the southern part of the country...where the orphanage is...as Hurricane Dean heads it way there. Please pray for everyone's safety & minimal damage of any sort to the country. Please pray for Jamacia as well as it looks like they may get the major brunt of the storm. Thanks in advance for your prayers!

Anytime I hear of a hurricane headed to a country without the resources that America has, it just makes me so sad. I saw what hurricane Katrina did to our country, and we had notice, and no excuses for such tragedy. I hope and do pray for the safety of each and every person in the path of this storm. I pray that Gods hand would calm the storm, and his other hand would hold all the people and buildings in strength!!!
My dad & his friend are going to Haiti today & called Jimmy to see if they should still go! Jimmy said everything was good; they should get some rain but over all everything should go smoothly! (But in Haiti, what goes smoothly?) :-)
yeah, it's looking like jacmel will get hit. we're on tropical storm warning here in port au prince. we really appreciate all prayers!!

I heard about that on the radio in the car this morning and prayed. My heart just sank as I thought about my kids and how I wish I was there to hold them through the storm or that they were here in Indiana away from the shore. But of course we have tornados here which isn't any better. Only God can protect. I keep reminding myself that they are in his hands!!
btw, jamacia is right in the path too, like you said, kathy. jacmel is here in haiti, jamacia is it's own island. both need prayer. sorry if i confused anyone!
I'm praying!!! Rob is there right now with our friend Dennis... it's been a time of stretching for me with my wth my whole family there... But God is awesome... it takes a mere flick of His fingertip to move this out of the way!
The only update I've gotten about Haiti is that the island of Hispanolia had heavy rain & sea surges causing coastal flooding. If anyone knows any more information, please let us know. Thanks so much! Yes...please pray for the people of Jamacia & the Yuctan pennisula.
Our team down there reported today that they'd only had a little rain and some nice breezes.

Praise God! I read that it missed Haiti and just smiled. God is so good!!!
Well, apparently there is some contradicting information out there because just now I read that massive waves & surges up to 20 feet high reached a section of Haiti's coastal area & 2 people were killed & 150 homes destroyed. One boy drowned in the Domincan Repulbic & no deaths reported in Jamacia so far. Please continue to keep the area in your prayers. Thank you!
I just got word regarding the orphanage & everything is okay there. Praise God!!! Thank you Jesus!!!
